Reimagining the Centro Acuatico de Olimpiadas de Madrid, with a narrative twist. Personal project, TBA.
PLANNED PROJECT

WHILE YOU’RE HERE...

This project is a reimagination of “Alovera II: Nuevo Centro Acuatico”, a proposal to transform the Centro Acuatico de Olimpiadas de Madrid, a dilapidated swimming complex in San Blas-Canillejas. Going through project and review notes for Alovera II, I realized that there is an opportunity to transform the project from a simple proposal for a water-park to a narrative-driven unconventional entertainment complex that changes functions with each development in its narrative and reclaims the raw and unpolished nature of the existing complex.

Here are some works that this project is inspired by; the works of avant-garde architectural firm Archigram, Hermes Vermeersch’s ‘(Re)framing Space’, as well as the music videos of Lorde’s “Team” and Stromae’s “Ta Fête”.
