CONTEXT

This is an accompaniment book for the Opera titled “Medea”, written by Luigi Cherubini, as performed in the Teatro Real in Madrid. The book deals with themes relating to the Opera, such as the pantheon of Greek goddesses, the backstory of Medea and how it intertwines with the story of Jason and the Argonauts, mental illnesses and diagnoses, and finally, female rage and its depiction in the media. It also features a set of pictures of the performances at the Teatro Real from previous years, as well as the libretto of the opera in its original French-language text.
